Cake cones

Servings: 1 dozen

One of my favorite things is to get kids involved while you cook, however not all parents feel
comfortable doing so. An easy way to get kids excited about food is to create similar activities for them to do while your cooking, i.e. while your kids are waiting for the cake cones to cook have them draw their favorite flavor of ice cream in a cup or bowl with lot’s of toppings.

Directions

Cream the butter and sugar for 3 minutes

Add the eggs one at a time

Add the vanilla- it will look curdled

Add 1/3 of the dry ingredients and then add a 1/3 of the milk. Continue until you have added all of dry and wet ingredients.

Pour into ice cream cones and top with sprinkles.

Bake for 18-20 minutes but be sure to run a skewer to the bottom of the cone to make sure it’s cooked all the way to the bottom.

¾ pounds unsalted butter

5 cups flour

2 cups of sugar

5 extra large eggs

1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup milk
