Product Review: Iced Coffee Maker by Primula

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Iced coffee maker, the cold brew glass carafe brewing system by Primula Products is a pitcher with a mesh core that allows you to infuse water with coffee grounds to make a professional cup of iced coffee. We’ve all been at a coffee house where we’ve had the perfectly brewed iced coffee, and the question remains, how did they do that?

“Primula creates new items by exploring how people prepare beverages in different cultures and understanding the experience and ritual of these preparations. Understanding why people love that beverage is the first step in our design process. Products are designed to connect with that emotion,” http://primulaproducts.com.

The Flavor Now Beverage System is a sleek and modern looking pitcher that holds 2.7 quarts of liquid; it comes with a mesh core, a wand to mash ingredients inside the core, a chill core to keep it cold and recipes.

All you have to do is place coarse to finely ground coffee inside the core, then you pour a cup of water through the grounds to loosen them, next you fill the pitcher with water to be perfectly infused (12-24 hours), lastly remove the core and thus your water is suppose to be perfectly infused with coffee.

The questions: can you brew good coffee starting with cold water, will the messy grinds seep through the mesh, will iced coffee infuse the water without making the coffee too bitter and does it make an iced cup of coffee that’s better or at least comparable to what’s in a coffee house?

Thus our test is warranted.

Iced coffee, cold brewing test:

Water with Dunkin Donuts coffee grounds:

Step 1: Pour coffee grounds into the mesh core

Step 2: Add 1 cup of water into the mesh core with the coffee grounds to loosen the coffee.

Step 3: Fill the pitcher with water (pouring the water through the grounds)

Step 4: Allow the pitcher, water and coffee grounds to sit in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

Step 5: Serve.

Outcome:

The water was no longer water. It was a good consistency of dark cold brewed coffee.
